The Sacramento Kings are promoting Will Scott to head coach of their G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings. The move was first reported by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Scott steps into the role after serving as associate head coach for Stockton. He also worked as head video coordinator and player development coach with Sacramento, giving him years of organizational familiarity.

Before joining the Kings’ system, Scott spent time with the Los Angeles Lakers, gaining experience in video coordination and player development at the NBA level.

His appointment comes as the Kings prepare for the 2025–26 season, their 41st in Sacramento and 81st overall in the NBA. The franchise hired Doug Christie as head coach on May 1, placing emphasis on developing talent at both the NBA and G League levels.

Stockton has been a key pipeline for Sacramento in recent years. Players such as Keon Ellis and Neemias Queta previously earned roster opportunities through strong G League performances. The organization expects Scott to continue strengthening that bridge.

The Kings enter the season with several new faces, including first-round pick Nique Clifford and second-rounder Maxime Raynaud. Both prospects could see time in Stockton under Scott’s guidance.
