Despite drawing national attention every time he suits up in Las Vegas, Bronny James admitted he’s not a fan of the city or the Summer League atmosphere.
The Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, “There’s so much going on in Vegas. I personally don’t like Summer League at all. I like the competition and the games, but I don’t like coming to Vegas and being in Vegas.”
James added, “My head is all over the place… After this, I’m just doing nothing.”
The comments come after Bronny wrapped up his second Summer League stint, this time averaging 14.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists across four games on 47.6% shooting.
He struggled from three-point range, hitting just 30%, but showed improved pace and confidence on the court compared to last summer.
The 20-year-old was selected by the Lakers with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, making history by joining his father LeBron James as the first-ever father-son duo to play together in the league.
He made his NBA debut on opening night against Minnesota and saw spot minutes throughout his rookie campaign, appearing in 27 games and averaging 2.3 points in 6.7 minutes per game.
Much of his development came with the South Bay Lakers in the G League, where he averaged 18.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists over 18 games.
James posted several standout G League performances, including a 39-point game against Santa Cruz and multiple outings with at least five assists and four steals.
While he played limited minutes during the 2025 playoffs, his presence remained a headline throughout the season due to his unique family connection and marketability.
