The Chicago Bulls are sticking with head coach Billy Donovan, agreeing to a multiyear contract extension ahead of the 2025–26 NBA season.

The deal was first reported by Shams Charania, who noted Donovan remains a respected figure within the Bulls’ front office and locker room.

Donovan will now enter his sixth year leading the franchise, having coached 800 NBA games between his time with the Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Talks between the Bulls and Donovan began at the end of the 2024–25 season and continued through free agency, the draft, and Summer League.

New York Knicks showed brief interest in Donovan before he recommitted to Chicago’s long-term plans.

The Bulls are coming off a 39–43 season that ended with a play-in loss to the Miami Heat, marking their third consecutive year missing the playoffs.

Despite those setbacks, the organization has opted for continuity heading into its milestone 60th NBA season.
