Miami Heat guard Pelle Larsson is making the most of his expanded responsibilities in the NBA Summer League, seeing it as a chance to grow his game and prepare for the upcoming EuroBasket.

After three Summer League games, Larsson averaged 18.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 29 minutes per contest. More importantly, the 24-year-old welcomed the opportunity to handle the ball more often, something he said he needs to keep improving.

“Very, very good experience for me,” Larsson told Miami Herald’s Anthony Chiang about his on-ball reps. “I’m going to have more of it this summer with the national team, as well. So I just got to keep growing with that.”

The Swedish guard acknowledged areas for improvement, noting some lapses in focus while running the offense. “I had too many, maybe, lapses of focus handling the ball,” he admitted, “but it’s a great learning experience.”

Larsson, drafted 44th overall in 2024 by the Houston Rockets before being traded to Miami, played 55 games as a rookie last season. He averaged 4.6 points and 1.2 assists in limited minutes while shooting 43.8% from the field.

In the postseason, Larsson saw action in four games, increasing his scoring average to 5.0 points and shooting over 53% from the floor. His Summer League showing suggests that he is eager to take on a bigger role heading into his second NBA season.

The former Arizona standout also has EuroBasket 2025 on his mind, where he will represent Sweden in Group B alongside Germany, Lithuania, Finland, Great Britain, and Montenegro. With games starting August 27 in Tampere, Finland, Larsson expects to continue developing as a playmaker during the tournament.
