Bronny James, the eldest son of NBA superstar LeBron James and a second-year guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, delivered a promising performance during the team’s Summer League victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday.
With his father watching courtside, Bronny impressed with a well-rounded outing, recording 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the floor.
He also added three assists and two steals, showcasing his development on both ends of the court, reports Broderick Turner in a separate article.
Lakers Summer League head coach Lindsey Harding emphasized the team’s desire to help Bronny grow as a floor leader.
“Yes, we want him to play as a primary ball-handler,” Harding said.
“Especially when the game gets tight, I like seeing the ball in his hands and want him making those decisions. You can run drills all day, but there’s nothing like learning from real game situations.”
