Amazon Prime Video is set to bring former NBA sharpshooter Dell Curry on board as an analyst for its expanding NBA coverage, according to a report by Front Office Sports.

The move marks a significant step in Amazon’s efforts to compete in the growing market of basketball broadcasting, as it builds out a team of notable voices around its NBA rights.

Dell Curry, who spent 16 seasons in the NBA and won Sixth Man of the Year in 1994, has already gained experience as a broadcaster with the Charlotte Hornets. His familiarity with the league and decades-long perspective make him a valued addition to the streaming platform’s team.

The report notes that signing the elder Curry could also strategically position Amazon to pursue his son, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, as an analyst after his playing career. Stephen Curry remains one of the NBA’s most marketable and recognizable figures, and any media outlet would benefit from his presence post-retirement.

Amazon Prime Video has continued to grow its sports portfolio in recent years, securing rights to NFL games and parts of the NBA schedule. The hiring of Dell Curry aligns with its strategy of blending experienced on-air talent with innovative streaming technology to attract younger and global audiences.

While the company has not yet made an official announcement, the addition of Dell Curry is expected to be finalized and revealed publicly soon, per Front Office Sports.
