Jordan McLaughlin is staying in San Antonio. According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the free agent guard has agreed to a one-year, $3 million contract to remain with the Spurs for the 2025–26 season.

McLaughlin, who split last year between the Sacramento Kings and San Antonio, will enter his seventh NBA campaign as a key reserve in Mitch Johnson’s backcourt rotation. The agreement was finalized just months after McLaughlin arrived in San Antonio as part of a blockbuster three-team trade in February.

The 29-year-old began the 2024–25 season with the Kings after signing there in July 2024. At the trade deadline, he and De’Aaron Fox were sent to the Spurs in a deal that also involved the Chicago Bulls. That transaction sent Zach LaVine and draft capital to Sacramento while Kevin Huerter and others landed in Chicago.

In his short stint with the Spurs last season, McLaughlin averaged 2.5 points and 1.5 assists per game on 53.6% shooting, including 45.0% from beyond the arc, across 18 appearances.

Prior to joining the Spurs and Kings, McLaughlin spent five seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he established himself as a dependable facilitator and perimeter defender. His career averages through 288 regular-season games stand at 4.1 points, 2.8 assists, and 1.4 rebounds per contest while shooting 44.5% from the field and 37.3% from three-point range.
