The Phoenix Suns are adding forward Isaiah Livers on a two-way deal, according to Shams Charania. Livers is set to resume his NBA career after missing last season with a hip injury.
Livers, a second-round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, began his professional career with the Detroit Pistons. He played three seasons in Detroit before being traded to the Washington Wizards in January 2024 but was waived in April without appearing in a game.
The Michigan native, who starred at Kalamazoo Central in high school and then at the University of Michigan, averaged 6.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 0.9 assists over 94 career NBA games. Known for his shooting touch, Livers has hit 35.8 percent of his three-point attempts in the league.
His most productive season came in 2022–23 when he played 52 games, including 22 starts, averaging 6.7 points while shooting 36.5 percent from deep. He recorded his career-high of 18 points in a game against the Indiana Pacers in March 2023.
Livers missed the entire 2024–25 season recovering from hip surgery but has reportedly made a full recovery and is ready to compete for a role in Phoenix. The two-way contract allows him to split time between the Suns and their G League affiliate.
At Michigan, Livers was a consistent contributor, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2021 and averaging 8.3 points per game over his four-year college career. He shot over 41 percent from three in college and was recognized as Michigan’s Mr. Basketball in 2017.
