Several NBA teams, including the Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Minnesota Timberwolves, are reportedly expressing interest in Bradley Beal should he come to a buyout agreement with the Phoenix Suns.
These teams are closely monitoring the situation and could pursue Beal in free agency if he becomes available.
The Clippers, in particular, have the financial flexibility to make a competitive offer. They still have $5.3 million left to spend from their non-taxpayer midlevel exception.
Furthermore, their recent trade sending Norman Powell to the Miami Heat has created an opening in their backcourt rotation, potentially making room for a veteran scorer like Beal.
Beal is currently on a five-year, $251 million contract originally signed with the Washington Wizards. He has two seasons remaining on that deal, which are worth a combined $110 million.
In order for a buyout to be completed, Beal would need to agree to a significant salary reduction. That would allow the Suns to stretch his remaining contract across several seasons, easing the financial burden.
Beal, in turn, would likely aim to recoup some of that lost salary by signing a new deal with another team in free agency.
During the 2024–25 season, Beal played in 53 games for Phoenix. He averaged 17.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while logging 32.1 minutes per game.
He shot an efficient 38.6 percent from beyond the arc and posted a True Shooting Percentage of .598.
However, his usage rate declined from his peak years in Washington, and he finished the season with a Player Efficiency Rating (PER) of 14.9 – down from his All-Star level production.
