Real Madrid announced the signing of French guard Theo Maledon on a two-year contract through June 2027. The 24-year-old arrives from LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne after an impressive 2024-25 campaign.

Maledon averaged 17 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.6 assists over 33 EuroLeague games last season. He earned December MVP honors after posting 21.2 points per game with a 90.4% free throw percentage.

The guard finished the season ranked fourth in Performance Index Rating (PIR), sixth in scoring, and led the league in free throws made. His efforts secured him a spot on the 2024-25 All-EuroLeague Second Team.

Born in Rouen, France, Maledon started his pro career with SPO Rouen and INSEP before joining ASVEL in 2017-18. Under the mentorship of Tony Parker, he made his EuroLeague debut in 2020-21.

Maledon played 177 NBA games with Oklahoma City Thunder, Charlotte Hornets, and Phoenix Suns from 2020 to 2024. He also spent time in the G League before returning to Europe last season.

During his time with ASVEL, Maledon won the French League and Cup titles in 2019, plus the Leaders Cup in 2020. Internationally, he helped France earn a silver medal at EuroBasket 2022.
