The Denver Nuggets are bringing back forward Spencer Jones after he signed his two-way qualifying offer, according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto. The move keeps the 6-foot-7 wing in the organization following an impressive G League campaign with the Grand Rapids Gold.

Jones averaged 14.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.1 blocks over 21 appearances in the 2024-25 G League season. He shot 51.8% from the field and 45.3% from beyond the arc, showcasing efficient scoring from multiple levels.

The 23-year-old initially signed with Denver last July on a two-way contract after going undrafted out of Stanford. He spent Summer League with the Portland Trail Blazers before joining the Nuggets ahead of training camp.

Jones played sparingly in the NBA this past season, logging 20 appearances and averaging just 1.3 points across 6.3 minutes per game. However, his role in Grand Rapids highlighted his potential as a 3-and-D option with positional versatility.

His size and defensive instincts translated well at the G League level, where he contributed as both a help defender and perimeter threat. He also tallied three double-doubles and finished with a +5.7 plus-minus per game.

By accepting the two-way qualifying offer, Jones secures another year with Denver while maintaining eligibility for both NBA and G League action. Teams are allowed up to three players on two-way deals each season.

The Nuggets will likely use Summer League and preseason to further evaluate Jones’ fit within their rotation.
