The Utah Jazz are actively exploring trades for forward John Collins and guard Jordan Clarkson, according to Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune.
Larsen responded on social media when asked about their trade likelihood following Collin Sexton’s recent departure to Charlotte. “Extremely likely, they are trying to trade those guys. I would consider it unlikely that they are on the roster next year,” he wrote.
Collins, 27, is entering the final season of a five-year, $125 million contract after opting into his $26.6 million player option for 2024–25. He averaged 19.0 points and 8.2 rebounds per game this past season in Utah.
The former Atlanta Hawks forward has had a productive NBA career, posting averages of 16.0 points and 8.1 rebounds over eight seasons. His shooting percentages from the field (.546) and three-point range (.363) remain efficient for a stretch-four.
Clarkson, 32, has spent the last five seasons with the Jazz, winning the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award in 2021. His production declined this past season, but he remains a scoring option off the bench or in a starting role.
The Jazz appear to be pivoting toward a full rebuild after shipping Sexton to the Hornets.
Both Clarkson and Collins could appeal to playoff-contending teams in need of scoring depth and frontcourt versatility. Collins’ contract status as an expiring deal makes him a logical trade piece ahead of the February deadline.
Clarkson is under contract through the 2025–26 season and will earn $14.3 million.
