Pascal Siakam shared his thoughts following the Indiana Pacers’ defeat in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals. The Pacers fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder 103-91, missing out on their first NBA championship.

Siakam expressed pride in Tyrese Haliburton who battled through a difficult year filled with criticism and stress. “He kept fighting every single day. He did some incredible things this whole playoff run and this year,” Siakam said.

Despite the loss, Siakam acknowledged the effort put forth by the team. “It hurts because we couldn’t get it done. I wanted it so bad for him because he gave us everything,” he explained.

Siakam also spoke about the unity and character within the team. “He was in the locker room talking to everyone, even while going through tough times. That shows his character as a player,” he added.

The forward reflected on his own journey, crediting the Pacers organization and teammates for rekindling his love for basketball. “A couple years ago, basketball was just kind of dark for me,” Siakam said. “Playing here has been incredible. I’m super grateful for that.”

Siakam thanked the fans for their unwavering support throughout the playoffs. “Some of those games, I have flashbacks to how amazing the crowd was. We tried our best to make Indiana proud,” he noted.

He encouraged fans to stay strong despite the tough loss. “At the end of the day, you win some, you lose some. We just have to keep going,” Siakam said.

The Pacers’ style of play also drew international attention. Siakam pointed out that their team-oriented approach resonated with fans beyond Indiana. “We show you can be a team, fight, and everyone plays together,” he stated. “We hope that sets a trend moving forward.”

Indiana finished the season with a 50-32 record and a surprising playoff run but fell short in the Finals against a dominant Thunder team led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
