Speaking to reporters at his annual basketball camp in Lithuania, Jonas Valanciunas made it clear that he anticipates remaining with the Sacramento Kings for the upcoming NBA season.
The veteran center, who was acquired from the Washington Wizards in a mid-season trade this past February, said there have been no signs from the organization that suggest otherwise.
“I can make my own plans, but what the Kings decide is what matters most,” Valanciunas said, via Johnny Askounis of Eurohoops. “Right now, I’m planning to stay. I haven’t heard anything about being traded or moved. Until there is such information, all my focus is on Sacramento.”
Valanciunas, 33, joined the Kings as part of Sacramento’s frontcourt retooling during the second half of the 2024–25 campaign.
Known for his physical inside presence, rebounding ability, and veteran leadership, the Lithuanian big man brought added depth and experience to the team’s rotation.
His statement comes at a time when many teams around the league are exploring roster changes during the offseason, leading to speculation about possible moves.
But as of now, Valanciunas is preparing as if he will continue to wear a Kings jersey come opening night.
Beyond his NBA plans, Valanciunas also confirmed that he intends to suit up for Lithuania’s national team this summer in the EuroBasket tournament – once again anchoring the squad with his trademark intensity and commitment on the international stage.
