The Memphis Grizzlies are finalizing their coaching staff as Tuomas Iisalo prepares for his first full season as head coach. NBA insider Marc Stein reported on his Substack that Jared Dudley, Adrian Griffin, and Dale Osbourne remain in strong contention for the top assistant coach role on Iisalo’s bench.
Memphis closed the 2024–25 season with a 48–34 record, securing the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference. The team experienced a turbulent playoff run, including the firing of former coach Taylor Jenkins despite a solid record.
Dudley, currently an assistant with the Dallas Mavericks, brings valuable experience both as a player and coach.
Griffin, former head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, is also a strong candidate, offering head coaching experience and defensive expertise.
Osbourne, an assistant with the Orlando Magic, is another contender known for player development skills.
The Grizzlies’ decision will shape their coaching approach next season, especially with key players like Ja Morant expected to lead the team back into playoff contention. The organization seeks a staff that can support Iisalo’s vision and build on the team’s competitive foundation.
Memphis finished the 2024–25 regular season ranked eighth in the West, with notable offensive efficiency, averaging 121.7 points per game. Their defensive performance allowed 116.9 points per game.
