Interest is building around the Philadelphia 76ers’ No. 3 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, just weeks before selections begin.

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Keith Pompey, multiple teams positioned behind the Sixers are “doing heavy research” on trading up to that spot.

The Mavericks hold the top pick after a lottery win, followed by the Spurs at No. 2. Philadelphia owns the third overall selection — its highest since 2017.

Despite early speculation, Philly Voice’s Adam Aaronson recently reported that the 76ers have “given no consideration” to dealing the pick.

That hasn’t stopped rival front offices from exploring scenarios. As Pompey noted, at least one executive has confirmed due diligence is underway.

Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman projects Philadelphia will draft Ace Bailey, a 6-foot-8 forward out of Rutgers, at No. 3.

Bailey’s athletic tools, shot creation, and positional size have drawn NBA interest, though scouts have flagged inconsistent shooting and decision-making.

Other top-five prospects include Dylan Harper, VJ Edgecombe, Cooper Flagg, and Derik Queen.

Flagg, expected to go No. 1 to Dallas, is regarded as the most complete player in the class.

For Philadelphia, this selection represents a key piece in reshaping the roster following a 24-58 season and a missed playoff berth.

The franchise appears committed to building around Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and Paul George, who is under contract through next season.

In addition to the third overall pick, the Sixers also own the No. 35 selection in the second round.

The 2025 NBA Draft begins on June 25, with round two scheduled for June 26.
