The Atlanta Hawks are focused on retaining veteran guard Caris LeVert, according to a report by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

LeVert, who arrived in Atlanta at the trade deadline, is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer following the expiration of his two-year, $32 million contract.

The 30-year-old appeared in 26 games for the Hawks after the February 6 trade from Cleveland, averaging 14.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 26.6 minutes per game.

Before the midseason move, LeVert posted 10.2 points and 3.7 assists per contest with the Cavaliers across 38 appearances.

Atlanta’s front office views LeVert’s scoring and ball-handling ability as a critical component of its bench rotation under head coach Quin Snyder.

The former Michigan standout delivered several standout performances for the Hawks, including a game-winning buzzer beater against Memphis on March 3 and a 31-point outburst against Philadelphia on April 11.

Atlanta finished the 2024–25 regular season with a 40–42 record, securing the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference before falling to Miami in the second round of the play-in tournament.

LeVert’s efficient production and veteran presence were seen as stabilizing factors during the final stretch of the season, especially amid roster injuries and rotational changes.

He shot 48.2% from the field and 33.8% from three-point range during his time in Atlanta, improving on his efficiency from earlier in the season.

The Hawks gave up De’Andre Hunter, two pick swaps, and three second-round selections to acquire LeVert and Georges Niang.
