The Atlanta Hawks are weighing the possibility of bringing back Danny Ferry in an executive capacity, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

Ferry, who previously served as general manager of the Hawks from 2012 to 2015, is being considered for a senior advisory role to newly appointed general manager Onsi Saleh.

As the Hawks continue their search for a new president of basketball operations, there is internal discussion about potentially placing Ferry in a high-level advisory role instead of filling the president position immediately.

Such a move would pair Saleh with an experienced basketball mind to guide him through the next phase of the team’s strategic development.

Earlier this month, the Hawks reportedly explored more prominent candidates for the top front-office role, including Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri and high-profile NBA agent Alex Saratsis.

In addition to executives, the franchise also reached out to several player agents to assess their interest in transitioning into team leadership roles.

The search reflects Atlanta’s intention to reshape its front office structure with a mix of fresh perspective and seasoned leadership as it enters a critical period of roster evaluation and long-term planning.
