John Haliburton, father of Indiana Pacers All-Star Tyrese Haliburton, has been granted permission to attend the team’s home games beginning with Game 4 of the second-round series against the New York Knicks.

According to a report by NBA insider Shams Charania, Haliburton will be allowed to watch the Pacers from a suite at Gainbridge Fieldhouse but will remain barred from attending road games.

This marks the end of an eight-game absence stemming from an April 29 incident involving Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Following Indiana’s 119-118 overtime win that night, which clinched their first-round series 4-1, John Haliburton entered the court and exchanged words with Antetokounmpo during the Pacers’ celebration.

Security staff intervened to separate both parties, and the altercation led to a swift joint decision between the franchise and the elder Haliburton for him to step away from attending games.

Tyrese Haliburton publicly addressed the matter in his postgame remarks, distancing himself from the altercation and expressing disapproval of his father’s conduct.

The 26-year-old guard said he found out about the confrontation only after returning to the locker room and watching the video.
