New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby, who has faced persistent injury setbacks throughout his career, has remained completely healthy and available throughout this year’s playoff journey, a fact that the team is taking full advantage of, writes The New York Post’s Stefan Bondy.
Last spring, during Game 2 of the Knicks’ intense second-round series against Indiana, Anunoby suffered a hamstring strain that sidelined him for the majority of the remaining games.
According to Bondy, the absence of Anunoby was the most significant factor contributing to the series dragging out to a full seven games and ultimately ending in defeat for New York.
Now fully recovered, the player is ready and eager to face Indiana again, setting the stage for a highly anticipated rematch.
Anunoby has played 8 seasons for the Raptors and Knicks. He has averaged 12.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 492 regular-season games.
He has won 1 NBA championship.
