There is a potential route for Giannis Antetokounmpo to join the Golden State Warriors, according to Brian Windhorst. The Warriors have assets that could form the basis of a trade package, including future draft picks and promising young players.
Last year, for instance, Brandon Podziemski was considered untouchable in trade discussions, but it’s uncertain whether that will remain the case moving forward.
That said, the Warriors aren’t in a strong position to win a bidding war if multiple teams pursue Giannis. It’s also important to recognize that Giannis has not indicated any desire to leave the Milwaukee Bucks, so it would be premature to assume he’s looking to move.
However, if a situation were to arise where Giannis became open to exploring other opportunities, he would likely have some say in where he ends up, despite having two years left on his contract.
While the Bucks wouldn’t be obligated to grant his request, if Giannis were to express a clear interest in playing alongside Stephen Curry, there’s a chance a deal could be negotiated between the two teams.
