Josh Giddey is reportedly eyeing a contract in the same financial range as Jalen Suggs, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
The Chicago Bulls guard, who becomes a restricted free agent this summer, is said to be targeting a five-year, $150 million deal that would pay him around $30 million annually.
That figure mirrors the extension Suggs signed with the Orlando Magic, which will begin next season.
Giddey, 22, completed the final year of his rookie-scale contract after being traded to the Bulls from the Thunder in June 2024 in exchange for Alex Caruso.
In his first season with Chicago, Giddey averaged 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists across 70 games while shooting 46.5% from the field and 37.8% from beyond the arc.
He recorded seven triple-doubles during the 2024–25 campaign and became just the third player in franchise history—joining Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen—to post a season with at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 500 assists.
Suggs, 23, played 35 games for Orlando this season, averaging 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 41% from the field.
Both guards played key roles for their respective teams, but Giddey’s larger sample size and historic statistical production may strengthen his case for a comparable payday.
Chicago finished the regular season 39-43 and ninth in the Eastern Conference, just one game behind Orlando.
With Giddey entering restricted free agency, the Bulls have the option to match any offer sheet he signs.
A long-term commitment in the $150 million range would represent a major investment from the front office under Artūras Karnišovas, especially as Chicago looks to build around a new core.
Giddey signed a four-year, $27 million rookie deal after being selected sixth overall by the Thunder in 2021.
