Two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has not made any firm decisions about his future with the Milwaukee Bucks, despite growing speculation, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

Stein reported on his Substack that while discussions continue around the league, the Bucks’ franchise cornerstone has not requested a trade and has yet to determine his next move.

This comes amid rising pressure following Milwaukee’s first-round playoff elimination at the hands of the Indiana Pacers, marking the third time in four seasons the Bucks failed to reach the conference semifinals.

Shams Charania previously reported that Antetokounmpo, for the first time in his career, is open-minded about whether remaining in Milwaukee is the best long-term option.

The 30-year-old forward averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists this season while shooting a career-best 60.1 percent from the field over 67 games.

He is entering the first year of a three-year, $175 million extension signed in October 2023, which includes a player option for the 2027–28 season.

Milwaukee ended the 2024–25 regular season with a 48–34 record, placing fifth in the Eastern Conference and failing to win the Central Division for the first time since 2018.

Injuries plagued the roster down the stretch, with Damian Lillard missing time due to deep vein thrombosis before suffering a torn Achilles during Game 4 of the playoffs.

The Bucks also traded longtime co-star Khris Middleton to the Washington Wizards at the deadline in a move that brought Kyle Kuzma to Milwaukee, signaling a shift in the team’s veteran core.

Despite capturing the NBA Cup in December, the Bucks struggled to maintain consistent momentum throughout the regular season.

Their postseason disappointment has led to questions about the viability of the current roster and whether the franchise can continue to compete at a championship level.

According to Stein, league sources say Milwaukee remains hopeful Antetokounmpo will stay, though that optimism could prove short-lived if the team’s trajectory fails to improve.
