
Though the Miami Heat’s season ended with disappointment, team president Pat Riley reaffirmed the organization’s guiding philosophy: never tank, and never rebuild from scratch.
“We’ve never done that,” he said. “Thirteen times, we’ve always found a way to rebuild (into) a team that was respected, that was a contender.”
Riley made clear that the goal is always to stay competitive, even while adjusting the roster and managing finances. It’s a middle path – less drastic than a full reset, but proactive enough to keep the franchise evolving.
