The Utah Jazz have signed head coach Will Hardy to a long-term contract extension through the 2030–31 NBA season, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

Hardy agreed to a six-year extension despite the team finishing with a league-worst 17–65 record in 2024–25.

The 37-year-old coach has been at the helm since 2022 and was originally hired to guide the team through a rebuilding phase following the departures of Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert.

Under Hardy, the Jazz have missed the playoffs for three consecutive seasons and posted declining win totals in each.

Their 17-win campaign this year marks the worst in franchise history, ending Utah’s streak as the only NBA team never to lose 60 games in a season.

Despite the downturn, the front office remains committed to Hardy’s long-term vision for development and continuity.

The Jazz were eliminated from playoff contention on March 10 following a loss to the Celtics and went on to finish last in both the Western Conference and the entire NBA.

Utah’s defense ranked 30th in opponent points allowed (121.2), and their -8.51 simple rating system (SRS) was second-worst in the league.

With lottery odds now set, Utah’s next priority will be the 2025 NBA Draft, where they are projected to have one of the top picks.
