Damian Lillard was forced to leave Game 4 of the Milwaukee Bucks’ first-round playoff series against the Indiana Pacers after suffering a potentially serious non-contact injury to his lower left leg.
The injury occurred during the first quarter, with Lillard collapsing to the floor and remaining down for several minutes before needing assistance to leave the court, unable to put any weight on the injured leg.
According to Chris Haynes, there is immediate concern that Lillard may have sustained a torn left Achilles tendon.
This latest setback comes shortly after Lillard made his return to the lineup following a battle with deep vein thrombosis earlier in the season.
Throughout the 2023-24 campaign, the veteran also struggled with an Achilles injury that ultimately sidelined him during the final stretch of Milwaukee’s previous playoff run.
Despite the interruptions, Lillard had a strong year statistically, posting averages of 24.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists during the 2024-25 season.
Looking ahead, Lillard holds a player option for the 2026-27 season, with his current contract set to expire in 2027.
He was also positioned to become eligible for a contract extension with the Bucks during this upcoming offseason, adding another layer of complexity to his and the team’s plans.
