Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr.’s status for Game 3 of the team’s first-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers remains uncertain due to a left shoulder sprain.
With the series currently tied 1-1, Porter’s availability could play a significant role in shaping the outcome of the next matchup.
According to The Denver Post’s Bennett Durando, interim head coach David Adelman expressed cautious optimism about Porter’s potential return, pointing to the 6-foot-10 forward’s resilience and willingness to play through pain.
Porter sustained the shoulder injury late in Game 2, with 1:35 remaining in regulation, prompting Adelman to turn to veteran guard Russell Westbrook to close out the game.
“I’m very optimistic, because I don’t think he gets enough credit for how tough he is, what he’s played through over these years,” Adelman said.
“His pain threshold is something that people don’t understand. … So, do I know if Mike’s going to play? No. But I do know if Mike can play, he will.”
Porter, known for his scoring ability and perimeter shooting, has a history of pushing through physical setbacks, including previous back surgeries earlier in his career.
As the Nuggets prepare for a pivotal Game 3, all eyes will be on Porter’s recovery and whether his toughness will allow him to suit up and contribute in a high-stakes moment.
