The NBA has revealed its three finalists for the 2024-25 Most Valuable Player award: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Nikola Jokic.
The announcement comes as the league’s top teams continue to battle in the postseason, with MVP voting based solely on regular season performance.
Antetokounmpo helped lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 48-34 finish, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in 34.2 minutes per game.
The Greek forward, who previously won MVP honors in 2019 and 2020, maintained elite efficiency while anchoring both ends of the floor.
Jokic, a three-time MVP, guided the Denver Nuggets to a 50-32 record with averages of 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 assists across 36.7 minutes.
The Serbian center led the league in triple-doubles and remained the offensive hub for one of the league’s top-scoring teams.
Gilgeous-Alexander posted a league-leading 32.7 points per game, along with 5.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists while playing 34.2 minutes for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
At age 26, the Canadian guard propelled the Thunder to the NBA’s best regular season record at 68-14.
All three MVP candidates carried their teams to top-five seeds in their respective conferences.
Jokic and the Nuggets ranked fourth in the West, while Antetokounmpo’s Bucks secured the fifth seed in the East.
Gilgeous-Alexander became the first Thunder player to lead the league in scoring since Kevin Durant in 2014.
