Paris Basketball stunned Real Madrid 73-81 on Tuesday night at WiZink Center, securing a playoff berth in their maiden EuroLeague campaign.

With the win, the French club clinched seventh place and booked a quarterfinal matchup with Fenerbahce.

Real Madrid still has one last chance to reach the playoffs and will face FC Bayern Munich on Friday in a win-or-go-home clash for the final postseason ticket.

Paris controlled the game after the first quarter and never allowed Los Blancos to regain the lead.

TJ Shorts led all scorers with 23 points and 9 assists, while Nadir Hifi added 15 points, including several crucial shots in the second half.

Kevarrius Hayes contributed 10 points and 6 rebounds, and Tyson Ward chipped in with 11 and 7 for a Paris side that made the most of its opportunities.

Real Madrid’s Facundo Campazzo finished with 17 points and 5 assists, while Gabriel Deck added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the losing effort.

Shorts opened the game with a triple, and the Parisians withstood an early Real run sparked by Walter Tavares and Campazzo.

A 19-25 advantage late in the first turned into a 22-27 lead after 10 minutes, as Andres Feliz capped the quarter with a free throw.

Paris gained momentum in the second, sparked by an 8-point burst from Hifi that included consecutive threes to give them a 33-41 edge.

Despite a brief Madrid response from Garuba and Campazzo, Paris closed the half strong, with Shorts driving past Garuba for a layup that made it 36-46.

The third quarter began with more offensive execution from Shorts, who assisted Hayes and scored himself to stretch the lead to 13 points.

Madrid narrowed the gap with key plays from Deck, Feliz, and Ibaka, trimming the deficit to four at the end of the third, 58-62.

The hosts nearly completed the comeback early in the fourth, cutting it to 61-62, but Paris responded with poise in crunch time.

A three-pointer by Mikael Jantunen pushed the lead to 67-71, followed by a deep sidestep triple from Hifi over Sergio Llull.

Jantunen then hit the dagger from beyond the arc to make it 71-79, silencing the Madrid crowd and sealing a famous win for Paris.

The result eliminates the 11-time EuroLeague champions from automatic playoff qualification and places them on the brink of elimination.

Paris, meanwhile, continues its dream run and will now face Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce in the quarterfinals.
