Between the team’s connectivity/pace, head coach Todd Golden’s composure, and star guard Walter Clayton Jr.’s heroics — the 2024-25 Florida Gators came through with the right formula for a memorable season/NCAA March Madness tourney run (36-4 record/SEC Tournament champions/Division 1 national champions).
Florida played an 8-man rotation of players who perfectly understood their roles in the NCAA tournament that featured trusted starters Clayton Jr., Will Richard, Alijah Martin, Alex Condon, and Rueben Chinyelu while Thomas Haugh, Denzel Aberdeen, and Micah Handlogten provided a spark off the bench.
Lastly, I have to mention Coach Todd becoming a national champ at just 39-years-old (defeated Houston 65-63) and Walter’s SEC Tournament MVP/Final Four Most Outstanding Player performances as signs that point towards more success in the future for both.
The Gators are champs—and FOCO just dropped an officially licensed Albert Florida Gators 2025 Men’s Basketball National Champions Mascot Bobblehead to celebrate the title.
