Jared McCain, a former one-and-done player at Duke now with the Philadelphia 76ers, expressed his excitement at the possibility of the Sixers landing a potential lottery pick and selecting another Duke star, Cooper Flagg.
McCain, who played alongside Flagg at Duke, would be thrilled to have him join the team.
In an interview with RG.org’s DJ Siddiqi, Sixers guard shared his enthusiasm for the prospect of reuniting with Flagg in Philadelphia.
“It’d be amazing,” McCain said, his excitement evident. “It’d be super cool to have him. He makes every team that he’s on better, so it’d be really cool to just have him on the team.”
The former Duke standout highlighted Flagg’s ability to elevate any squad he’s a part of, emphasizing how valuable the young star would be to the Sixers.
Philadelphia’s one-and-done player also reflected on the camaraderie that comes from sharing a Duke connection in the NBA, adding a lighthearted twist to his comments.
“It’s always nice to have someone from Duke by my side. I got a lot of Kentucky people with me, you know what I’m saying? I need some more Duke guys.”
For McCain, the idea of having another familiar face from his college days would not only boost team chemistry but also strengthen the bond between the Duke alumni in the NBA.
