Kevin Durant is set to be sidelined for a minimum of one week due to a left ankle sprain, which will keep him out for the entirety of the Phoenix Suns’ upcoming three-game road trip.

This injury comes at a crucial time for the Suns, who currently sit 1.5 games outside of the Play-In Tournament while facing the most challenging remaining schedule in the NBA.

Durant sustained the injury during Sunday’s loss to the Houston Rockets when he stepped on the foot of Jabari Smith Jr. while driving to the basket.

This marks the third time in the past two years that Durant has dealt with an injury to his left ankle, raising concerns about his durability.

Speculation continues to grow that Durant will be traded by the Suns during the offseason as the franchise looks to rework its roster.

The 14-time All-Star is having another productive season, averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.

Durant remains under contract with Phoenix but has the option to become an unrestricted free agent in 2026.
