The Charlotte Hornets are anticipated to revisit trade options for center Mark Williams during the upcoming offseason.

According to rival executives, Charlotte is likely to pursue trade opportunities for Williams once again, following the unsuccessful deal with the Los Angeles Lakers at the trade deadline.

The Hornets and Lakers had initially agreed on a trade that would have sent Williams to Los Angeles in exchange for Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish, a 2030 first-round pick swap, and a 2031 first-round pick.

However, the Lakers ultimately voided the deal after Williams failed his physical, citing multiple medical concerns discovered during their evaluation.

Since rejoining the Hornets after the All-Star break, Williams has played in 12 of the team’s last 15 games. Earlier in the season, he had been sidelined for a significant stretch due to a foot injury.

Over his first two NBA seasons, he also missed multiple games because of various health issues, with a back injury being the most notable.

Williams is set to enter the final year of his rookie-scale contract, valued at $6.3 million, and will be eligible for a contract extension this summer.
