The Philadelphia 76ers have suffered another major blow as Paul George has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to lingering injuries.

NBA insider Shams Charania reported that George received injections in his left adductor muscle and left knee before the decision was made to shut him down. The 34-year-old had been battling multiple injuries throughout the season, including two knee hyperextensions, a finger tendon issue, and a groin ailment.

George appeared in just 41 games this season, averaging 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 32.5 minutes per contest. His absence further depletes a Philadelphia squad that has been without Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and several other key players.

The Sixers (23-45) sit 13th in the Eastern Conference, trailing the Miami Heat by six games for the final Play-In Tournament spot. With George now sidelined, Philadelphia’s postseason hopes continue to dwindle.

The team has dealt with a long list of injuries, including Embiid’s season-ending knee surgery and ongoing absences for Maxey, Kyle Lowry, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Andre Drummond.

George’s season-ending injury marks another setback for Philadelphia, which had hoped to make a late push for a Play-In berth. With a depleted roster and limited depth, the Sixers now face an uphill battle in the final stretch of the season.
