Anthony Edwards delivered a dominant performance Sunday night, scoring 41 points as the Minnesota Timberwolves extended their winning streak to eight games with a 128-102 victory over the Utah Jazz.
The Timberwolves (40-29) remain locked in a tight battle with Golden State for sixth place in the Western Conference, while Utah (15-53) suffered its ninth consecutive loss. Edwards shot 16-of-27 from the field and hit five three-pointers.
Jaden McDaniels contributed 20 points and 12 rebounds, recording a double-double by halftime. Donte DiVincenzo added 11 points and seven assists.
Collin Sexton led the Jazz with 22 points, while Walker Kessler controlled the boards with 19 rebounds to go along with 15 points. Lauri Markkanen finished with 16 points but struggled to impact the game as Utah committed 22 turnovers.
Edwards wasted no time setting the tone, scoring 19 points in the first eight minutes.
The Timberwolves took control early, leading 34-20 after the first quarter and never looking back. They shot 49.5% from the field and forced Utah into 12-of-38 shooting from beyond the arc. Minnesota’s defense also capitalized on the Jazz’s mistakes, converting turnovers into transition points.
Utah played without two key contributors, as rookie Keyonte George (foot) and forward John Collins (ankle) remained sidelined.
