The Philadelphia 76ers are bringing back Chuma Okeke on a 10-day contract ahead of their matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. NBA insider Marc Stein reported the signing, marking Okeke’s second stint with the team this season.
Okeke, 26, previously signed a 10-day deal with Philadelphia on February 6 but played just two minutes in a single appearance before returning to the Westchester Knicks. In the G League, he has averaged 17 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists in 36.8 minutes per game.
The former Orlando Magic forward had his best NBA season in 2021-22, posting 8.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.
Philadelphia (22-44) currently sits 12th in the Eastern Conference, trailing the 10th-seed Chicago Bulls by 5.5 games. With the playoffs virtually out of reach, the 76ers are likely using the final stretch of the season to evaluate potential roster additions.
