The Dallas Mavericks had just nine players available on Friday in Houston. Forward P.J. Washington, dealing with a right ankle sprain, was ruled out for the seventh straight game after being listed as questionable.

Head coach Jason Kidd explained that with an early Sunday game against Philadelphia, Washington was unlikely to play if he suited up tonight, so the decision was made to hold him out.

There’s no word on other injured Mavericks returning soon, although Kidd mentioned Anthony Davis (adductor strain) is progressing, but there’s no set timeline for his return.

In addition to limited players, Kidd faces restrictions on several, with Dante Exum out indefinitely, and Dwight Powell, Caleb Martin, and Brandon Williams all on minute restrictions.
