Payton Pritchard and Derrick White combined for 84 points as the short-handed Boston Celtics (44-18) secured a 128-118 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers (28-35) on Wednesday night.

Pritchard erupted for a career-high 43 points, knocking down a personal-best 10 three-pointers to lead the Celtics.

White added a career-high 41 points and drained nine threes, marking the first time in franchise history that two Boston players scored 40 or more in the same game.

Their performance also set an NBA record, as no duo had ever made at least nine three-pointers each in a single contest.

The Celtics played without Jayson Tatum (shoulder), Jrue Holiday (finger), and Kristaps Porzingis (illness), but Pritchard stepped up to guide Boston to its eighth win in 10 games.

The game was competitive in the first half, featuring five ties and 15 lead changes, but the Celtics pulled away by outscoring Portland 36-27 in the third quarter.

Boston finished with 23 made three-pointers, while Portland struggled to match their outside shooting.

Anfernee Simons led the Blazers with 30 points, and Shaedon Sharpe contributed 25.

Portland, on the sixth stop of a seven-game road trip, had won four of its previous five games before running into Boston’s hot shooting.

Despite falling behind by 25 points, the Blazers cut the deficit to 124-116 with 2:35 remaining, but the Celtics secured the win with key defensive stops and clutch free throws.
