Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered another stellar performance, scoring 31 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a commanding 135-119 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night. The Thunder, now 48-11 and sitting atop the Western Conference, continued their dominance against Eastern Conference teams, improving to an impressive 21-1 in such matchups.

Gilgeous-Alexander was efficient, shooting 12-of-23 from the field, including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc. His leadership and scoring prowess set the tone for Oklahoma City, who never trailed in the game.

Luguentz Dort and Jalen Williams provided strong support, each adding 20 points. Dort was particularly effective from long range, knocking down 6-of-11 three-pointers as part of the Thunder’s 23-of-50 shooting from deep.

The Hawks, led by Onyeka Okongwu’s 23 points and 13 rebounds, tried to keep pace but couldn’t overcome Oklahoma City’s offensive firepower. Trae Young struggled, scoring 19 points on just 5-of-14 shooting, though he dished out 12 assists.

Oklahoma City’s three-point barrage was a key factor, with the team tying their second-highest total of the season. Their ability to spread the floor and capitalize on open looks kept Atlanta’s defense scrambling all night.

The Thunder’s bench also contributed, with Isaiah Joe scoring 12 points in just 11 minutes before exiting with lower back soreness. Aaron Wiggins added 13 points, while Chet Holmgren, despite being questionable with a calf contusion, started and chipped in seven points.

Atlanta made a push late in the first half, cutting a 20-point deficit to seven with a 14-0 run. However, the Thunder responded in the third quarter, outscoring the Hawks 37-20 to regain control.

The Hawks, now 27-33, remain in the hunt for a play-in spot but will need to address their defensive struggles to make a serious push.
