Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic fractured his right hand’s second metacarpal during the first half of Sunday’s 120-113 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. He scored seven points in 15 minutes off the bench.

A recovery timeline is still unknown. This season, Jovic has been impressive, averaging 10.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. Coach Erik Spoelstra replaced him with Kyle Anderson in the second half.

Miami extended Jovic’s contract for the 2025/26 season, a bright spot in a tough year. The Heat have lost seven of their last 10 games, including a 1-5 record since trading Jimmy Butler.

The Heat are now 26-29 but still in play-in contention. Jovic’s absence could impact the team, with Jaime Jaquez Jr. likely to see more playing time.

The 6’10” forward has played 3 seasons for the Heat. He has averaged 8.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 107 regular-season games.
