The Golden State Warriors have added Taran Armstrong to their roster, signing the Australian guard to a two-way contract, as reported by NBA insider Shams Charania.
Armstrong, a 6-foot-6 point guard, has been turning heads in the Australian National Basketball League (NBL), making his mark with impressive performances. After going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, Armstrong returned to the Cairns Taipans for the 2024–25 season, where he’s continued to shine.
The 23-year-old is averaging 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game in 29.8 minutes of action for the Taipans this season. His all-around game has made him one of the standout players in the NBL, leading to his NBA opportunity.
Golden State (30-27) is currently 9th in the Western Conference, and the addition of Armstrong provides another valuable piece for the team as they push toward a playoff spot.
Armstrong’s signing offers the Warriors a promising young talent to develop while maintaining flexibility for the team’s roster. As he enters the NBA, Armstrong will aim to prove his worth in the Warriors’ system.
Golden State’s signing of Armstrong reflects their commitment to strengthening their roster depth, especially as they continue their pursuit of a playoff spot in the highly competitive Western Conference.
