The Golden State Warriors have internally discussed the possibility of trading Draymond Green, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic. Speaking on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back, Amick noted that the team has considered making a move despite Green’s long-standing presence in the franchise.

“They’re trying to get another star,” Amick said. “As of yesterday, we’re looking at it going, ‘Oh boy,’ like, they might actually get off Draymond or do something like that… It’s 100% been discussed internally.”

Green, 34, is averaging 8.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.4 assists in 27.8 minutes per game this season. He is in the second year of a four-year, $100 million contract, which includes a player option for the final season.

The Warriors are 10th in the Western Conference with a 25-24 record, struggling to stay in the playoff picture.

Golden State is reportedly looking to make an aggressive move before the trade deadline. Green himself recently acknowledged that the front office is likely to explore all options to improve the roster.

Trading Green would be a significant shift for the Warriors, as he has been a core member of the team’s four championship runs.
