The Golden State Warriors are actively exploring the possibility of acquiring Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns, according to sources close to the situation, as reported by Jake Fischer.

In addition to Durant, the Warriors are having internal discussions about the potential of bringing both Durant and LeBron James to the team.

However, the logistics of such a trade seem extremely unlikely, given the challenges involved in fitting both stars onto the roster and managing their substantial contracts.

Although the Suns have communicated that they have no plans to trade Durant before the deadline, they are reportedly still open to listening to offers.

Phoenix is expected to demand a hefty return in any potential Durant trade, likely requiring both significant draft assets and a highly regarded young player.

The Suns have expressed particular interest in Jonathan Kuminga, who will be a restricted free agent this offseason and could be a key part of any trade package.

Meanwhile, the Suns are also actively pursuing a deal for Jimmy Butler, aiming to move Bradley Beal in exchange. However, despite ongoing talks for several weeks, no clear path has emerged for the Butler acquisition.

The Suns’ best shot at landing Butler may involve trading one of their star players, either Durant or Devin Booker, which would significantly alter the team’s roster.

On a related note, the Warriors have also been engaged in trade discussions involving Jimmy Butler and Zach LaVine.

However, LaVine was traded to the Sacramento Kings by the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, which has complicated Golden State’s pursuit of the guard.

As the trade deadline approaches, the Warriors remain active in trying to bolster their roster, with Durant, Butler, and other potential moves still very much on the table.
