The Los Angeles Clippers have finalized a trade deal involving PJ Tucker, Mo Bamba, a future second-round draft pick, and a cash consideration, which they are sending to the Utah Jazz, according to reports from Shams Charania and Bobby Marks of ESPN.
In return, the Clippers will acquire forward/center Drew Eubanks and seasoned guard Patty Mills.
PJ Tucker, a defensive specialist known for his toughness and veteran presence, has been away from the Clippers since the start of the current season following a mutual agreement between him and the franchise.
Mo Bamba, a former lottery pick with a reputation as a shot-blocker and floor spacer, will now join the Jazz roster.
Financially, this trade brings significant benefits to the Clippers. The team now finds itself $4 million under the NBA’s luxury tax threshold, creating additional room for strategic moves throughout the season.
Furthermore, they gain valuable trade exceptions worth $6.5 million and $2.1 million, which could be useful for acquiring players or managing future salary cap scenarios.
The addition of Drew Eubanks offers the Clippers a versatile frontcourt presence with defensive grit, while Patty Mills brings championship experience and a veteran playmaking option to bolster the backcourt.
This trade positions the Clippers for improved flexibility both on the court and in future transactions.
