The Sacramento Kings have no plans to pursue a trade for Jimmy Butler, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic. Despite exploring potential roster upgrades, the team does not view the Miami Heat star as a solution.

The Heat suspended Butler indefinitely after he walked out of practice on January 27, adding to a turbulent month in which he also missed a team flight and publicly requested a trade.

Amick reported that Sacramento is already dealing with its own challenges, particularly regarding De’Aaron Fox’s future. The Kings’ front office is active in trade discussions but is not interested in adding Butler’s situation to their concerns.

Miami’s decision to suspend Butler for at least five games means his absence will extend beyond the trade deadline. The situation complicates any potential deals, as teams weigh the risk of acquiring the 35-year-old forward amid ongoing tensions.

This season, Butler is averaging 17 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 30.6 minutes per game. His production remains solid, but his availability has become a growing issue for Miami’s playoff hopes.

The Heat currently hold the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 23-23 record. Sacramento, at 24-23, sits in 10th place in the West as it fights to stay in the playoff race.

Butler has a $52 million player option for next season, which could affect how teams approach trade talks. His future in Miami remains uncertain, but the Kings have made it clear they are not among his potential suitors.
