Here’s Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young on the group’s lack of readiness against winnable opponents following Thursday’s 122-119 home loss vs. the Toronto Raptors (3-game losing streak).

(via Atlanta Hawks):

“Defense was good in the second half, but that’s how we should’ve started the game. We’ve had this kinda like thing for a while now where we’ll play really good against certain teams, some of the best teams in the league, and then some of the teams that you look at the standings and you think you should beat and people around you feel that you should beat, you don’t come out and you just play to your competition. Sometimes when you’re in the league, these are NBA players, too, and they took advantage of that. They knew we were on a back-to-back, too. Some of them were joking throughout the game with us like running and stuff. They were tired, too, with us. So it’s part of it, everybody knows it’s frustrating, but you gotta get the next one.”
