Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard has not ruled out the idea of joining a EuroLeague team at the end of his career. In a conversation with Toni Canyameras, the 34-year-old guard revealed that the thought has crossed his mind in recent years.

“It’s something that I spoke about with my family members the last couple of years,” Lillard said. “Not that I thought about it seriously, but like what if I just went and played on a EuroLeague team just for the experience at the end of my career. But it was nothing that I seriously thought about. But you never know.”

Lillard, known for his loyalty to the Portland Trail Blazers before his trade to Milwaukee, continues to excel in his second season with the Bucks. He is currently averaging 24.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 7.3 assists in 36.2 minutes per game.

While the possibility of playing overseas isn’t a concrete plan, it adds to the growing trend of NBA players showing interest in international basketball. Stars like Carmelo Anthony and Kobe Bryant expressed similar sentiments during their careers, though neither ultimately played in Europe.

Lillard is under contract with Milwaukee for two more seasons, including a player option for 2026-27. With the Bucks aiming for a deep playoff run alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo, Lillard’s focus remains on competing for an NBA championship.

EuroLeague basketball, widely regarded as the second-best basketball league globally, has attracted former NBA players over the years. Its emphasis on team play, tactical execution, and passionate fanbases offers a different basketball experience.

At 34, Lillard is showing no signs of slowing down and continues to be a critical piece of Milwaukee’s offense.
