Fenerbahce has bolstered its roster with the signing of experienced guard Errick McCollum. The Turkish club announced the deal, confirming that McCollum will join the team for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

McCollum, a 35-year-old scoring guard, brings a wealth of experience from his time in Europe, China, and the United States. Known for his offensive prowess, McCollum has carved out a reputation as a consistent scorer and team leader throughout his career.

The Ohio native started his professional journey in 2010 with Israel’s Elitzur Netanya after playing college basketball at Goshen. His breakout came in the Greek League with Panionios, where he averaged 17.7 points and became the league’s leading scorer in the 2013-14 season. That year, he also topped the EuroCup scoring charts with 20.2 points per game.

McCollum’s career highlights include a stint with Galatasaray in 2015-16, where he was instrumental in their EuroCup championship. His performances earned him EuroCup MVP honors, with averages of 18 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. He also left a mark in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), recording an 82-point game, the highest in league history.

The veteran guard previously played for Turkish clubs Galatasaray, Anadolu Efes, and most recently, Karsiyaka, where he was a key offensive player this season. In the Turkish Basketball Super League, McCollum averaged 16 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists, while in the Basketball Champions League, he put up impressive numbers with 22 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3 assists per game.

Fenerbahce’s decision to bring in McCollum comes as the team competes for a top spot in the EuroLeague standings. Currently sitting fourth with a 12-7 record, Fenerbahce aims to strengthen its chances of securing a deep playoff run.

This marks McCollum’s return to the EuroLeague after last playing for Khimki Moscow in the 2020-21 season. With averages of 11.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists during that campaign, McCollum showcased his ability to perform at the highest level of European basketball.
