The Utah Jazz (8-25) snapped a five-game losing streak with a resounding 136-100 victory over the Miami Heat (17-16) on Saturday night. Brice Sensabaugh led the way with a career-high 34 points, shooting 7-of-11 from beyond the arc.
John Collins added 24 points and nine rebounds for Utah, while Walker Kessler posted a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds. The Jazz starters all reached double figures, including Collin Sexton with 17 points and Lauri Markkanen with 15.
The game turned in Utah’s favor during a dominant second quarter. The Jazz outscored Miami 40-19 in the period, taking a commanding 62-41 halftime lead.
Miami struggled without suspended forward Jimmy Butler, who is serving a seven-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team. Nikola Jovic led the Heat with 17 points, and Duncan Robinson contributed 16. Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo combined for just 19 points on 4-of-18 shooting.
The Heat’s shooting woes were evident, particularly from three-point range. Miami hit only 9-of-35 (25.7%) from deep, including 1-of-12 in the second quarter. Utah, in contrast, shot 41.3% (19-of-46) from beyond the arc and 52% overall.
Utah dominated the boards with a 63-42 rebounding advantage, including seven offensive rebounds from Kessler. Each Jazz starter collected at least four rebounds, contributing to their physical dominance.
Sensabaugh’s breakout performance highlighted a strong showing from Utah’s bench, which contributed 65 points. The rookie added seven rebounds and two steals in his best game of the season.
