Cam Johnson and Cam Thomas combined for 50 points as the Brooklyn Nets edged the Milwaukee Bucks 113-110 on Thursday, holding off a furious late rally. The win pushed Brooklyn to 13-21, while Milwaukee dropped to 17-15.

Brooklyn led by as many as 24 points and carried a commanding 111-90 advantage with less than seven minutes to play. However, the Bucks reeled off 20 consecutive points, cutting the lead to one. With Milwaukee poised to complete the comeback, Giannis Antetokounmpo missed a crucial layup in the final seconds.

Ziaire Williams secured the rebound and calmly knocked down two free throws with 6.1 seconds remaining, sealing the Nets’ victory. Damian Lillard had two opportunities to tie the game from beyond the arc, but both of his attempts missed the mark.

Johnson led the Nets with 26 points on an efficient 10-of-16 shooting, including six three-pointers. Thomas came off the bench to add 24 points, converting all six of his free throws.

Brooklyn received a boost from Nic Claxton, who tallied 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Day’Ron Sharpe, who provided six points and six rebounds in under 20 minutes of action.

Antetokounmpo spearheaded Milwaukee’s effort with 27 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists, shooting 50% from the field. Lillard contributed 23 points and seven assists but struggled with efficiency, making just 6-of-20 field-goal attempts. Khris Middleton added 12 points in limited minutes.

The game turned physical late in the first half when Milwaukee’s Andre Jackson Jr. was ejected for unnecessary contact with Nic Claxton. Despite this setback, the Bucks nearly completed one of the season’s most improbable comebacks.

Brooklyn’s defense played a key role in the final minutes, forcing Antetokounmpo into difficult shots and limiting Milwaukee to just 29.7% shooting from three-point range. The Nets also capitalized on their free throws, converting 89.3% of their attempts compared to the Bucks’ 67.9%.
